DUTIES: A Building Operating Engineer operates, monitors, and performs maintenance on high pressure gas or oil fired boilers, gas or steam turbines, energy recovery boilers and heat exchangers, other heating systems, and their auxiliaries in supplying steam or high temperature hot water for space heating and similar purposes; operates, monitors, and performs maintenance on large tonnage capacity chillers used for air-conditioning, including all auxiliary related equipment such as condensers, cooling towers, pumps, performs water treatment tests and analysis; monitors and maintains other building service equipment; operates and programs computer based building automation systems, trouble-shoot program control sequence of operation, operates and maintains various types of refrigeration and air conditioning air handling units, operates and monitors computer based lighting control systems; and tests and monitors fire life and safety alarm systems.
REQUIREMENTS: A valid unlimited steam engineer's license issued by the Department of Building and Safety of the City of Los Angeles is required at the time of filing.

- 2. A valid universal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certificate is required prior to appointment pursuant to Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.

Apprentice-Hydro Electrician #2926Puget Sound Energy (PSE), is seeking applicants to fill multiple Apprentice positions in the Energy Production department located through-out it’s service territory.
Job Summary: Work under the supervision of a Journey Hydro electrician to construct, install, inspect, operate and maintain generation plant electrical and associated mechanical equipment, especially as it applies to hydro-electric generation facilities. Perform similar and incidental duties as required. The apprenticeship is an 8,000 hour/4 Year program. Must satisfactorily complete 8,000 on-the-job hours of apprentice training and 144 hours of related instruction each year as required by the Apprenticeship Agreement and pass basic written, oral and physical examinations.
Requirements: Applicant must have a comprehension of elementary power generation and the ability and aptitude for learning the Hydro Electrician’s trade. Must know material used in construction and maintenance of hydro generation equipment. Must have successfully satisfied pre-qualification requirements as determined by the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC). Must possess a valid driver’s license. This position requires the employee to obtain and maintain a First Aid, CPR and AED Certificate, a lift truck certification and a current Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A) with air and other necessary endorsements or obtain the same within 30 days. Training will be provided. Employees must have a working knowledge and comply with all Company standards, policies, practices, procedures and State and Federal regulations as they pertain to the job.
Job Conditions and Physical Effort: The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. The position generally involves sitting, standing, walking, moderate to heavy lifting, moderate carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, balancing and climbing, operation of light equipment, tools and machinery and operation of heavy equipment and machinery. Performance of the position requires working in varied outdoor environments such as all weather conditions, all noise levels, hazardous condition and on the full range of outdoor work surfaces. The use of protective clothing and safety devices is required. May require the driving of automobiles, vans, small to large trucks.

The OSPI Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director of Skill Center Programs will work as a member of the Career and Technical Education Team and within the Curriculum and Instruction Division to support Skill Center programs. The primary responsibility of this position will be to further develop the Skill Center system through established CTE program standards, skill center guidelines and rules and to support the skill center directors and staff in aligning their instruction and assessment practices to business and industry standards and the Washington state academic learning standards. The Director will communicate and coordinate efforts related to skill center matters within OSPI, CTE Educators and Administrators (including Skill Center Directors), school districts, higher education, and other CTE professional and government education-related organizations.

Mason County PUD No. 3 is seeking to fill the position of apprentice wireman.
Job duties entail working under the direction of a journeyman wireman to learn the trade related to the construction, maintenance and repair of substations and related equipment. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; math proficiency at the college pre-calculus level; a valid Washington State driver license with a Class "A" commercial endorsement and an excellent driving record. This apprenticeship will require 8,000 on the job training hours over a minimum of 4 years, enrollment in a state certified apprentice wireman school and completion of 144 hours per year of related supplemental instruction. This is an IBEW represented position and is a safety sensitive position subject to random DOT drug and/or alcohol testing.

The Evergreen State College Labor Center has two new job openings for Labor Educators/ Field Organizers. These are both exempt (non-faculty), permanent, 12-month positions.
One position will focus on developing programs to strengthen the leadership and organizing capacity of women active in union and community organizations. This staff member will also be a primary Labor Center educator on traditional union topics such as collective bargaining training and internal/external organizing.
